Advanced Course in Cytoreductive Surgery for Gynecologic Peritoneal Surface Malignancies

The thoroughness of cytoreductive surgery is the largest contributor to survival for patients with advanced ovarian and primary peritoneal carcinoma. This program is designed to provide information through formal lectures, panel
discussions and cadaver dissection regarding the clinical applications of advanced cytoreductive surgery for ovarian cancer and related gynecologic peritoneal surface malignancies.

Target audience
This activity is designed for gynecologic oncologists and surgeons who practice the specialty of gynecologic oncology and surgical oncology.

Objective of the event
After completing the learning activity, the participant should be able to: • Describe the prognostic impact of minimal residual disease achievable through advanced cytoreductive surgical procedures. • Demonstrate a working and practical knowledge of upper abdominal and pelvic visceral and retroperitoneal anatomy. • Formulate a strategic operative approach to advanced-stage ovarian cancer and implement appropriate patient selection criteria. • Describe the critical steps in performing advanced cytoreductive surgical procedures in gynecology
